Types of Hydraulic Seal

EU Pneumatic seal

There are different types hydraulic seals that we use for different purpose. Hydraulic Seals are categorised as follow :

Types of Hydraulic Seal :

1. Piston Rod seal

Piston Rod Seal is a single acting seal. It is designed to have symmetrical lips in order to be used both for rod and piston applications. This seal is made of PU material. In addition, It has mechanically trimmed lips. Therefore, it creates excellent contact pressure in both dynamic and static one-way sealing. Since it has symmetrical lips, it is applicable in both for rod and piston applications. In addition, it can be used as shaft seal because it has good oil film returning ability. In conclusion, this seal has a good one-way sealing capability for piston and Rod Seal application.

2. Rod seal

Rod seal is the most critical seal on any type of fluid power equipment. This seals must meet the most demanding requirements It prevents leakage of fluid from the cylinder to the outside. In addition, it has two sealing lips. Therefore, an additional lubrication is maintained in the sealing gap due to the action of the two sealing lips. At the same time , it prevents the entry of contaminations from the wiper side.

3. Wiper/Dust seal

Wipers are installed in the sealing configurations

DHS wiper Seal is a double lip seal with a dust lip and an oil seal lip. Its structure makes it excellent in dust resistance and less oil leakage. In addition, The DHS seal prevents the entry of dust, dirt, sand and metal chips. Mainly used in hydraulic cylinders.

4. Piston seal

Piston Seals are used in hydraulic cylinders for fluid sealing. They are internal to the cylinder head and seal against the cylinder bore, preventing fluid from flowing across the cylinder head. This allows pressure build up on one side of the piston, making the cylinder extend or retract.
