U cup piston-rod seal
U-Cup Piston-Rod seal is a single acting U-symmetric seal. That is why it is called U seal. It is designed to have symmetrical lips in order to be used in both for rod and piston applications. In addition, It has mechanically trimmed lips. Therefore, it creates excellent contact pressure. Since it has symmetrical lips, it is applicable in both for rod and piston applications. In conclusion, this seal has a good one-way sealing capability for piston and Rod Seal application. Most U-Cup seals are made of Polyurethane material.
Polyurethane (PU) is a special material that offers the resilience of rubber combined with the toughness and durableness. It allows people to substitute rubber, plastic with PU. Polyurethane can reduce factory maintenance and OEM product cost. Polyurethane has better abrasion and tear resistance than rubbers, and offering higher load bearing capacity.
The seal can be considered for use in heavy-duty applications when used with a suitable full depth back-up ring.

Installation
This seal fits easily in closed grooves as per the sizes. You should use special tools during seal installation. But, the assembly tools must be of soft material and have no sharp edges. Otherwise, the seal might gets damaged. Before installation the wiper must be oiled with system oil.
